Boston’s Hotel Commonwealth Named as among the World’s Top 500 Hotels by Travel + Leisure Magazine

For the past nine years, Travel + Leisure Magazine has asked its readers to select their favorite hotels around the world.   Now the latest results are in!

Joining the exclusive list this year is Hotel Commonwealth in Boston’s Kenmore Square, one of the city’s most interesting and alluring small luxury hotels.

Travel + Leisure describes Hotel Commonwealth as a “Retro-looking but tech-savvy French Empire-style property next to Fenway Park" and cites "the Baseball Suite and Island Creek Oyster Bar” as two recent additions to the hotel

The hotel is nestled perfectly between iconic Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox, the fashionable Back Bay and the bustle of Boston University and other universities.

Congratulations Hotel Commonwealth.

  Born 180 years ago on June 28, 1844, John Boyle O’Reilly helped shape the history or Ireland and America in the late 19th century in powerful ways. Today, O'Reilly’s stature as a seminal figure in Irish and Irish-American history is particularly evident in his beloved birthplace of Dowth, County Meath; in Freemantle, Australia where he was imprisoned; and indeed, throughout the Irish Diaspora.  O'REILLY LANDMARKS IN MASSACHUSETTS O’Reilly remains popular in Boston, New Bedford, Hull and Springfield where there is a selection of memorials and plaques, parks and city squares, library collections and Irish organizations honoring O’Reilly’s memory.
