(Boston) -- Today the Boston Irish Tourism Association (BITA) and Massachusetts state tourism officials released a schedule of the 2011 St. Patrick's Day parades and cultural events planned this March in cities and towns across Massachusetts.
Among the highlights:

- Dozens of Irish concerts, theater and literary events throughout March
- History and heritage events celebrating Boston's Irish history dating to the 18th century
- Gift Shops and authentic Irish products
- Pubs and restaurants with live Irish music and Irish-style menus
- Hotels close to parade routes, cultural venues and heritage landmarks.
Nearly 24% of all Massachusetts residents claim Irish ancestry, according to the US Census, making it the most Irish state in the nation.
